Member for Murray Austin Evans has congratulated Griffith company Flavourtech for taking out the Manufacturing Exporter of the Year Award at the Premier’s NSW Export Awards in Sydney last night.

Mr Evans said it was the second year in a row Flavourtech won the award at the Premier’s NSW Export Awards, which are led by the Export Council of Australia with principal sponsorship from the NSW Government.

“Flavourtech is a fantastic regional business that designs, manufactures and services specialised processing equipment for the food, beverage, dairy, flavour and pharmaceutical industries worldwide,” Mr Evans said.

“The Griffith-based company specialises in aroma recovery, extraction and evaporation solutions. Its unique technology allows it to process products in a very gentle way using only steam, without using any chemicals or solvents.

“Flavourtech has built on this capability and customised solutions to fit the needs of customers in different regions across the world.

“The NSW Government’s export advisers have worked with Flavourtech over a number of years to identify and target potential new overseas markets

“It now conducts business in over 60 different countries and has built up its export business to over 90 per cent of its annual sales.

“Flavourtech has grown to become a creative, flexible and culturally-aware company that successfully competes across many different industries and regions against companies many times larger than it.”

NSW Minister for Trade and Industry Niall Blair said Flavourtech was one of 19 NSW export award winners announced at last night’s awards.

“We’ve got export champions that have been awarded right across our economy – from our agribusiness, manufacturing, mining and defence sectors to health, digital technologies, education, creative industries and more,” Mr Blair said.

“What they all have in common is burning ambition to succeed backed by great ideas and a commitment to great businesses that support jobs and our economy.”
