Member for Murray Austin Evans has announced his Murray Electorate Office at Buronga is up and running with the appointment of well-known local Julie Jewell as the Electorate Officer.
Mr Evans warmly welcomed Mrs Jewell to the position and said she will play a very important role in providing a link to the communities in the West of the Murray electorate.
“Mrs Jewell was selected from a strong field of applicants due to her outstanding skills, strong background and excellent knowledge of the local community,” Mr Evans said.
“Bringing extensive experience to the position, Mrs Jewell’s career includes roles in tourism and local government”.
Mrs Jewell said she was excited by the new initiative undertaken to open an office and provide support for the Wentworth Council region in the Murray electorate.
“Given the enormity of the region that Mr Evans represents I feel privileged to join such a progressive team, making accessible and personable contact for local residents especially in the Buronga, Gol Gol and Wentworth communities,” Mrs Jewell said.
“I am looking forward to working and communicating to make a difference in the Murray electorate with the Austin Evans team.”
Mrs Jewell started in the position this week with a familiarisation visit to the Griffith Electorate Office.
The new Electorate Office will be based at Midway Centre where Wentworth Shire Council provides a Service Centre. Mrs Jewell will work Monday-Wednesday each week and is available to assist with any issues, initiatives and projects relating to the NSW Government.
Mr Evans thanked Wentworth Shire Council for supporting this initiative and allowing Mrs Jewell to operate from the Midway Centre.
