Member for Murray Austin Evans has announced that students at Barooga Public School will soon get a technology boost in the classroom thanks to a $9,311 grant from the NSW Government.
Mr Evans said the school has been using iPads for some years and have found them to be an invaluable teaching and learning tool.
“I am absolutely delighted that the school will now be able to purchase 18 new iPads to replace the ones they currently have, which are beginning to show their age,” Mr Evans said.
“Principal of the school, John Francis, approached me to see if it was possible to obtain funding through the NSW Government for new iPads.
“I then contacted the NSW Minister for Education, Rob Stokes and he agreed that this was an extremely worthwhile project.
“The school community has found the iPads to be highly effective in the classroom, allowing teachers and students to access a variety of online resources.
Mr Evans said this grant is another way in which the Nationals and Liberals in Government are supporting our School communities.
