Member for Murray Austin Evans made the announcement in Gol Gol today that students at Gol Gol Public School will soon have a running track with fitness stations, surrounded by a landscaped area, thanks to a $10,000 grant from the NSW Government.
Mr Evans said the school has a Playground Improvement Plan in place which has been developed by students, staff and community members.
“I am absolutely delighted that the school will now be able to construct a running track and fitness area, which is a key component of the Playground Improvement Plan,” Mr Evans said.
“Principal of the school, Glen Walker, approached me to see if it was possible to obtain funding through the NSW Government for the running track and fitness stations.
“I then contacted the NSW Minister for Education, Rob Stokes and he agreed that this was an extremely worthwhile project.
“The track and fitness stations are an important part of the school’s strategy to support improved fitness and health in the school community.
Mr Evans said this grant is another way in which the Nationals and Liberals in Government are supporting our school communities.
