Member for Murray Austin Evans has today revealed Accounting will be offered in Deniliquin as part of a range of high-demand courses available through the state-of-the-art TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centre (CLC).
“When it opens later this year, I can confirm the Certificate IV in Accounting will be among the courses available through the Connected Learning Centre,” Mr Evans said.
“I’m particularly excited because I know how critical it is to consistently offer training in areas of high industry demand such as accounting, especially in regional communities.
“TAFE NSW has not been able to consistently deliver courses like this in smaller regional centres due to low class sizes.
“But the Connected Learning Centre is a game changer. The NSW Government is expanding training opportunities locally through this multi-million dollar investment in Deniliquin that will support local industry.
“The CLC will enable students in Deniliquin to join classmates in Narrandera, Corowa, Grenfell or Glen Innes and create the critical mass needed to run their course.
“I’m pleased to be part of a government that is supporting regional towns to grow their own workforce through quality training with TAFE NSW.
“This is just another example of how CLCs will offer the most in-demand courses linked to job outcomes.”
“I can’t wait to find out what other new courses will be available when the Deniliquin CLC course profile is announced ahead of the opening of the facility, which is being delivered on schedule and is now 50 per cent complete.”

Visiting the site of the future Deniliquin CLC, CLC Austin with Sara Morley (TAFE NSW), Daniel McAlister (Joss) and Peter Rae (Brian McLeary Accounting)
Mr Evans made the announcement while visiting the site of the future Deniliquin CLC, where he was joined by Partner at Brian McCleary Accounting, Peter Rae.
“I grew up in Deniliquin and had to move away to complete my studies,” Mr Rae said.
“There is a strong demand for professional services like accounting in our region but we are too reliant on drawing in talent to meet this need.
“I know we would be keen to employ local trainees if they are able to study locally and work at the same time.”
